Don’t Panic! Brace for Impact!
The exhibition Don’t Panic! Brace for Impact will open at the Fawick Art Gallery on Friday, November 12th from 5pm-8pm.
R!ch Cihlar and Bob Peck devised the title, ‘Don’t Panic!’ for their art collaborations, in reference to their collective approach and as advice for the viewer. The dynamic duo uses spray paint to morph their styles seamlessly into unified Street/Pop Art installations.
Works featured in the upcoming exhibition pay reverence to the idea of unseen forces colliding with each other. The works will range from a variety of designer toys, spray painted works, and other forms of Street Art. In the incarnation of Don’t Panic! at the Fawick Gallery R!ch and Bob solicit reinforcements in the form of fellow artists.
This Land is Your Land, Kevin Muente
Kevin Muente’s This Land is Your Land Exhibition will be held at Baldwin Wallace University’s Fawick Gallery, October 11, 2021-October 22, 2021 with the opening reception: October 22, 2021 from 5-8pm.
The stories Kevin Muente tells speak to the soul. We may not know who these characters are, but we still connect to their problems, and desires. We empathize with them. Their world helps us to examine our world. Expressions, gestures and narratives frozen on the canvas heighten the suspense and are never fully resolved. The landscape and its eternal presence surround the figures and offers a freshness lacking from much narrative art. Like a film director, Kevin scopes out environments that will heighten the drama of the characters involved giving my paintings an almost cinematic quality.

The exhibition showcases Chapman’s delicate, white porcelain sculptures and black-and-white tintype photography that examines why women were sent to asylums and the botched diagnosis and treatments they received.
